ELFRIDA, Cochise County, Arizona - Old cotton gin: I don't know what this building is today, and I think it has been many things over the years. However, thanks to Marcella Martineau Roe, I know that it was a cotton gin back in the 1940s. To me it is a landmark because it is the first building I notice when coming into Elfrida from the south. - Timbucktoo: Whatever this was, it had been closed down for awhile when I took this photo. I noticed it for the first time the day I took the photograph. It's just outside of Elfrida, at the turnoff to Gleeson. - Fire Department: The real fire department is more than a dog and a fire hydrant, but this old, tall hydrant and dog statue were on display outside the fire department building. - Elementary school: Those are the Swisshelm Mountains in the background.
